There are many theories as to the cause of type 2 diabetes, no one is 100% sure but there seems to be a strong indication that a diet low in essential fatty omega 3 6 and 9 acids and a diet high in processed sugars and flours as well as large amounts of hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated fats and trans fatty acids.
Also a lifestyle with little or no exercise. The general consensus leans towards type 2 diabetes being a genetic disease yet the facts do not bear this out. Our gene pool does not simply jump the ratio of sufferers from 1 in 100 00 to roughly 1 in 10 over a fifty year period. Some other factor is to blame here. It is no coincidence that in the last year or so, we have seen a massive movement for the eradication of hydrogenated oils from our supermarkets. Perhaps the law suits are already threatening and the huge multi national markets are getting ready for damage limitation.

have been suffering from (DIABETES) disease for the past four years and had constant pain, especially in my knees.
